Named a California Business for Education Excellence (CBEE) Star School in 2006 and a 1998 California Distinguished School by the California State Department of Education, Dudley Elementary was founded in 1959. Located in a rapidly growing area of the northern portion of Sacramento County, Dudley serves over 740 kindergarten through fifth-grade students.
Academics are a priority at Dudley, and it's our belief that all students can learn. Dudley utilizes Open Court Language Arts and Harcourt Mathematics, which are both state-adopted programs. We've found that with relentless focus on the California State Standards, our students succeed. Assessment is a critical component of our instructional program, and assessment data is regularly gathered and used to direct instruction in every classroom.
Respecting diversity is a key framework for programs and curriculum at Dudley. Drawing on our students' various ethnicities, cultural heritages and extensive travel experiences provides our staff with unique opportunities to incorporate many different cultures and backgrounds in the curriculum.
Students at Dudley encounter a rich school environment enhanced by several extracurricular programs. Unique to the school is the California History Center, which provides students with an opportunity to see and handle authentic artifacts from different periods of California history. This outdoor exhibit spans the length of an entire wing of the school. A sister exhibit of the same size is the Dudley Nature Center. This display provides visitors with an opportunity to experience native plant species of California. The birds that are attracted to the Nature Center add to the beauty of the school and give students another venue for studying the natural environment.
Dudley appreciates your interest in our school and welcomes your comments.
